“Mother Mendon”
Mendon is a residential town with frequent development on its main Route 16 (Boston’s Middle Post Road). Host to Southwick’s Zoo and the Mendon Twin Drive-In. The town beach, Lake Nipmuc and the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor are local recreation spots that are located here. Sometimes referred to as “Mother Mendon”, due to including some parts of its neighboring towns before it was officially incorporated in 1667.
